Grandmother Dream

I had a recurring dream of my childhood the other night.  When ever I went to spend the night with my Mom’s mother, Grandma Strong, we would kneel by the bed and recite the Lord’s Prayer and other prayers.  A common one was the 23rd Psalm of David.

That night I probably dreamed three times that I was back in my Grandmothers extra bedroom, kneeling, reciting the 23rd psalms with her.  Of course I got the hint and finally grabbed my bible from the bookshelf and opened it up.  Interestingly, the red ribbon was placed on that exact page.  I opened it up and read it once again.  I had forgotten how powerful it is. I just had to copy it and post it for those who have not read it for as long as I have.

While writing this, I had to go stick in Dianne Reeves "Best times (Grandma's song)".  It chokes me up every time.

Psalm 23

A psalm of David.

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures,
     he leads me beside quiet waters,

he restores my soul.
     He guides me in paths of righteousness
     for his name's sake.

Even though I walk
     through the valley of the shadow of death,

     I will fear no evil,
     for you are with me;
     your rod and your staff,
     they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
     in the presence of my enemies.
     You anoint my head with oil;
     my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and love will follow me
     all the days of my life,
     and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
     forever.

Brian-I just started reading your blog and am now up to date.

My surgery was 2 months ago this week and I'm feeling better than expected. I'll be getting back to work in a month, so for now I have lots of free time. It would be fine for me at this time to start some light massage and keep me in practice.

I would like to help in your recovery, if I can (as a gift). Maybe I could come by for short visits and work on you. I've worked with other friends going through chemo and think you may enjoy a light touch massage to calm your system and help the swelling in your legs. So, if your around and in need, let me know. I also have an extra table I could leave at your place. Also I'll be house sitting for Rich and Roberta from the 22 till 28 and will be in your hood.

If your not up for me coming by I understand. I just want to send you some good mojo durning this time. xoox,Janet

Brian, I love you and am so glad that Grandma Strong sent you such a powerful message. You truly are in God's hands and he is with you. Our family has "Strong" history with God's healing. You are in my prayers and I'm visualizing the tumors melting away and being replaced by God's healing light. Grandma Strong used to say that God had healed her several times. In addition, at one time my mom had some tests and was told that her carotid artery was almost completely blocked. I showed her a picture of a cross section of an artery and we talked about prayer and visualization. She would pray and visualize the placque being washed away. At the same time she started drinking a lot of water and would visualize it doing the washing out. Repeat tests showed no blockage. She would keep telling herself to "Be still and know that I am God." This is the verse that Grandma Strong gave her and she says it means to turn your cares and worries over to God and to know that he is with you. Your dreams were amazing, God communicated with you.
