Still Waiting

Hello Loved Ones

Sorry that I have not posted for some time.  There is not any new diagnostic information but I did want to keep you updated.

To help start shrinking Clyde (I got one vote for Clyde.  Thanks Janice),  I have had almost daily high dose Vitamin C IV therapy.  I also drink a wonderful tasting chinese herbal tea concoction three times a day.  I started this before I even went down to MDA for the first time.  The Vitamin C therapy takes up to 3-4 hours of my time every morning, so it has really impacted my time management skills.

It is amazing to me that this has been obviously growing in me for quite some time without a hint but has hit me so hard so quickly and in such a short time once it let me know it was there. I often crash for and hour or two in the afternoon if I am really tired.  I have not been sleeping well so some days are better than others.  So far the most problematic things are sleeping discomfort, occasional night fevers,  and swelling of the feet and legs if I stand or sit for too long.  I can only sleep on my back since it hurts to lay on my sides and since my bladder is compressed I am up every couple of hours to the bathroom.   Please let me know if this is over share.  I will try not to get too graphic as time goes on but people keep asking how I am and what is going on.

We have testing scheduled in Houston for tomorrow but it may be postponed since the surgeon is so busy, I can not get an appointment with him at the same time.  Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.  They want more MRI's and CAT scans to rule out lesions in the lungs and brain and get a better idea of what they are dealing with.  We still have not heard what kind of tumor it is but should know this week.  Hopefully, we will then have a plan of action.  I know this is going to be a long process but it helps to have a direction and to finally get started.  I will let you know when we hear any thing of interest.

I have also contacted a clinic in Mexico for I guess what would be called in the US, as "experimental therapies".  I should hear from them shortly if I am a candidate.  It sounds interesting and I know at least a couple of people that have gone and had a good experience.  I will keep you informed on that as well.

Thanks again for all the Love,
Brian

Hi Brian and Glenda,

I hope you had a wonderful holiday.

Brian, I happen to know those herbs don't taste wonderful (never met a chinese herb that did!)...but I guess that means they must be good for you!

Hang in there, I'm thinking of you both and sending you lots of love.

Hey Brian....thanks for keeping us up to date. I think about you every day and somehow it comforts me to know your progress.
I, too, like the name of Clyde. Count that as vote number two.
I'm very interested to hear about the Mexican alternative. Is this in Mex. City?
Keep your chin up, Bro. Lots of us out here in friendship-land pulling for you!
Your fellow Hoosier Buddy,
Tom
